We worldschool and travel with our 3 kids from 4-7 yo. The children saw the Nutcracker Ballet live in 4 different countries, they can discuss its performance by different famous companies. My daughter became interested in the Nutcracker through "Barbie and the Nutcracker" DVD. I explored this unit study to go a little deeper and build up to seeing a live performance next year with her. Thank you Sonia for the Nutcracker Unit Study. We’ve been working our way through everything. We found lovely Nutcracker cake decorations just before Christmas and put them in my daughter’s stocking. Perfect fit to one of the activity.

We are very familiar with the Nutcracker. It's our family tradition to see it on stage before Christmas. My younger daughter also dances at a classical ballet company that puts on the Nutcracker every year. This unit study has some great crafts and activities to incorporate the Nutcracker into our day while we look forward to see it on stage.

We made Rice Crispie treats with crushed candy canes on top and took them to the Nutcracker performance with us! It was inspired by one section mentioning the Land of sweets of the unit study. They were delicious and the performance was wonderful, & the kids were as sweet as sugar plums. Sonia had put great activities on this unit study to explore the Nutcracker more in depth.

Fantastic cheat sheet and unit study! Thanks Sonia. I got 2 cute knitted dolls for my kiddos - Nutcracker and Clara. They've been great for telling the story and for my kids acting out the story, as prompted in the study. We brought them along to the show so my daughter had something to hold on to and fidget with - great tip from the cheat sheet!

About me
Hi, I'm Sonia, a homeschooling mother of 2 children (12 and 15 years old), writer, Founder and Director of a Transformed Mother.
In 2014, and for several years thereafter, I embarked on a journey to assist families using music and thematic approaches - using the multiple intelligences concept. My goal was to empower children, like your, to discover and express their innate abilities and talents through enjoyable and educational activities and tools. As time went on, I expanded my activities to include teaching emotional intelligence, aiding children in finding balance, boosting their confidence, and supporting their overall development for a thriving and blossoming future.
Today, my focus has shifted more towards assisting mothers in transforming their parenting experiences. My aim is to help mothers experience more joy, enhance their confidence, reduce feelings of overwhelm and frustration in parenting, and ultimately, to have more harmonious family quality time.
A happier and more balanced mother can raise a happier child! And I'm here to support and guide you.
